- Are my messages emails?
No. They are only internal messages within the Courtside network. - Is my email address included in my message?
No. Your email address is only used for login security and to notify you of activity and messages on your site. Your email will never used or sold for any reason or purpose. - How do I know I have messages?
You will receive an email to your personal account and they will show up in your Courtside Inbox. The number of unread messages (i.e. new messages) will be displayed next to the Inbox link. - What do I click on to read the message?
Go to your Inbox and click on the message subject. - Why is the person's name a link?
By clicking on the name of the person you will be take to their Profile page where you can see their profile picture, their home club and primary phone number to contact them at. This is helpful when you dont recognize the name of the sender. - How do I delete the mail in my inbox?
Check the box next to the person's name to delete just that email or check the box next to FROM to delete all the mail at once. - Can viruses, attachements or spam be added to a message?
No. Your message cannot carry any of the above. Another great reason to network using the Courtside Canada message system.
- How do I add an event?
Click on Add an Event. Add a short subject title to WHAT which will show up on the calendar date and your list of calendar events. Add a more detailed description to the WHERE which will be displayed when you click on the title and add the date and time. - How do I delete an event?
Click on the event and then the EDIT this event link, the delete button is there. - Will event reminders pop up before the date?
No. But under your calendar on your Homecourt page and on your club page the next 3 events on your schedule will show up as a reminder. - How do I add an event to my Club calendar?
When you create an event there is a check box that says PUBLIC. If you check that box the event will go into your calendar as well as be shown on the Club page calendar. If you do not check the box the event will on show up in your calendar. - What is Import Tenniscores Schedules?
If you have teams that are part of league that uses our parent company TENNISCORES.COM you can import their schedules into your calendar if you want to know where they are playing either home or away and who they are playing. If you know of interclub leagues in your city that are not using Tenniscores please let us know who they are so we can get in touch. Tenniscores users are all part of the network and could be part of your business.
- How do I invite a player to join my network?
Enter the email address of the player into the INVITE A PLAYER box and send. This will send them an email with a link to our Getcourtside.com homepage for them to create their FREE account. - Can I invite a group of players at one time?
Yes. We provide you with a link that you can cut and paste and add to an email. When they click on the link it will take them to a sign up page that puts your site as their home club and adds their name automatically to your network. Again player sites are free and so are all the features built into them. - How do I delete players or groups?
Check the box next their name and click DELETE. They will not be notified that they were deleted from your network. - How do I invite players to join my leagues, ladders and round robins?
When you generate a program a Registration Invitation is automatically created for you to send. You will find the link on each program page you create as well as when you go to Courtside Network - Will they recieve an email to their personal account regarding the invitation?
Yes. When you send any message to a player they not only recieve the message in the Courtside inbox but they also receive the message to their personal email account. The email will let them read the full text of the message and provides a link to that page. - When I add pros to my network am I added to theirs?
Yes - How do I create a new group?
Check the boxes next to the names of the people you would like to add to the group and then click on the GROUP button. This will open up a box for you to name the group, type in the name and submit. - How do I add players to an existing group?
Check the name of the player(s) that you want to add to a group and then on the Add to Group button. Choose the name of the group you are adding them to and submit. - How do I delete a group?
Go to Groups, check the box next to the name of the group you want to delete and DELETE. - Can I add players to more than one group?
Yes. Add players to as many different groups as you like.
- How do my members book a lesson?
When Courtside members are logged into the network, the site knows who they are. They can look for the time that they want to book, if it is available and if the box is white they can click on it and it will turn green. They then select the length of the lesson and click Book. This will block out the time on the schedule and send you an email notification that a new lesson was booked. - Can I block off times I'm not available?
Yes. We will be adding the ability for you to block of dates and times in date or time blocks as well, it's just not there yet. - How do I make lessons avaiblabe to my members?
Click on Lessons/Pro Mngmt and then on the Manage Pros button. This will let you display what pros are allowing lessons to be booked online, their title. You can also hide the name of any pro that has an account attached to your site but does not want to be visible on the website. - Is there a master list of who has booked lessons?
Yes. When you go to Lessons there is a button called Lesson Schedule that will break your lessons down by day, time and who is scheduled.
- What is Club News?
Club News is easy to use and creates a great running tabloid of news items for your members. - How long will a news item stay on my Club page?
News items stay visible on your club page for 2 weeks unless you choose to either delete them or not make the visible any longer. - How do I delete news items?
There is a delete button and and edit button with every news item.
- How do my members sign up?
Because they are logged into the network the site knows who they are. When they click on the club event there is an RSVP button to the right of the event. By clicking on the RSVP they will be added to the list of people coming to your event. Their name will be displayed if you have chosen to make the sign up public. - What are club events?
Any events or activities from social non tennis events, tennis events to drills and lessons that you want displayed on your Club page for your members to view and sign up for. You can either display who is coming as they respond or you can keep the list of respondees private. There are radio buttons to check for this as you create the event. - What does Make RSVPs private or public mean?
By making RSVPs public the name of the person signing up is visible under the event for everyone to see. If you make it private than only you can see the list of people signing up.
- Can I choose the type of Ladder I want to run?
Yes there are currently 3 choices:
1. Sliding: The winner of the challenge takes the losers spot and everyone pushes down.
2. Switching: The winner and loser switch places on the ladder.
3. Points: The total number of games possible in a 2 out of 3 set match is 39 (7/6 6/7 7/6). If the winner of the challenge is higher ranked on the ladder they get 39 pts minus the number of games the loser won. If the winner of the challenge is the lower ranked player on the ladder they take over the point total of the player they just beat plus(+) 39 pts minus(-) the number of games the loser won. The loser always receives 1 pt for each game that they win. - What is payment policy?
This will create the page for how you want your players to make their registration payment. You can choose from
1. online payment not required: this lets them register without paying
2. Paypal payment required: if you have a paypal account and have entered the email address you use players can pay directly into your account.
3. Paypal payment or club account required: same as above or they can choose to enter their club account number. - Where do I enter my Paypal email for my account?
Go to your Profile and click on the Account tab, enter email for your Paypal account and Save. - What are cooling off days?
These are the number of days that a player must wait before they can challenge another player on a LADDER once they've completed a challenge, scored the match and scores are online and confirmed. - How long should a ladder or league run?
Flex Leagues should be created in flights of 8 players that run 7 weeks with possible 2 additonal weeks for rain dates or playoffs.
Switching and Sliding Ladders should be created in small groups of players of the same calibre so that everyone has a chance of getting to the top. The ladder should run about 8 weeks with a 2-3 week cooling off period then begin another one
Points ladders can be made up of larger groups since the more you play the more points you get which will move you to the top of the ladder. The ladder should run about 8 weeks with a 2-3 week cooling off period then begin another one. - What should I charge?
It is completely up to you what you charge per player to register for your league or ladder. We charge you $3 per player for each league or ladder. We suggest $25 per player in the box but you can change it to anything you like. - What is the Register by?
Register By is the date that online registration will close. At midnight of the date Register By the online registration button that players see is automatically removed. After that you are the only one that can add players to your league or ladder. - Do you provide Rules or do I create my own
No we don't provide rules since everyone usually has different rules that they like to run their league or ladder by. - Can I edit the dates once I create the event?
Yes you can edit the Start, End and Register by dates once the league has started. You will go to SETTINGS to make those changes. - Can I add and delete players?
Yes you can Add and Delete players by going to Edit Players. - Can I edit the Rules?
Yes you can edit Rules by going to SETTINGS. - How do I pay Courtside for Ladders?
One week before your event is to begin you will see a message with the expected amount owing. For your ladder to go live on your website you must pay via the link in the message or by clicking on the Payment tab. You can add players at any point to your ladder and it will keep a running total of how much you owe. You can wait until you are not accepting any more players to pay this amount. - How do I pay Courtside for Flex Leagues?
Once you have closed registration and flighted your players and click on SCHEDULE you will see a button telling you how many players and the amount owing. Click on the Paypal button to submit your payment and once that is received you will be able to schedule your flights. - Can I add and delete a league or ladder?
Yes you can create a dummy league so that you can see how the mechanics of creating an event and then click on the delete button before you get to the payment. - How do invite players to register?
When you create any league or ladder a Registration Invitation buttons shows up on page. The button will link you to your Courtside Network where you select the players and groups you want to invited and then click INVITE. This sends out a message to everyone and a link directly to the registration page of the event for them to sign up. - How do players register?
The player clicks on the invitation that has been sent to their homecourt or they can go to your club page and click on the link to the league or ladder and a register for league button will be there. The link to register for the Ladder is only visible until the registration date. If you would like to register more players after the registration closes you can do so by going to your admin and Edit Players.
- How do players challenge?
On each Players homecourt they have a direct link to any ladder that they are registered in. When they are logged in and go to the ladder it will display the word Challenge next to the name of any player they are eligible to challenge based on the ladder criteria you set. During the challenge process both players are shown on the ladder as setting up a challenge and are not available for any other challenges until it is resolved.
The player clicks on the challenge button and a Challenge invitation appears for that person. It asks the player to select up to 3 dates they are available and where they would like to play the match. The challenge is sent and the opponent has 3 options, accept one of the times, suggest 3 new times or cancel the challenge.
If a date is agreed to the message confirming the date is sent to both players, their match is then displayed on the ladder under GAME ON and put in their calendars.
If a date cannot be agreed to the player that initiated the challenge cancels it so that both players become available for challange again
Does the match need to be set up online?
We want you to encourage players to set their matches up online but Yes they can set the match up without using the invitation. By doing that though the match will not be added automatically to either players calendar for their reminder and it will not show up on the ladder home page until one player actually clicks on the challenge button next to a name. - Can I add scores and cancel challenges?
Yes you would go to Challenge Report Scores and for each scorecard that is created by the challenge you have a buttons to add scores, cancel challenge and confirm scores.
If a match is retired or partial scores are entered the player is told to contact you to enter the scores and explain why it was not completed. You will click on Advanced Scoring on that match scorecard to enter the results. - Where do we see the individual match results?
You can either click on the name of the player on ladder to see just their results or you can go to Challenges/Report Scores and view by Week. - Can a player contest the scores?
Yes. The player that initiated the challenge enters the scores and their opponent recieves a message with a link for them to either confirm or contest the scores. Once confirmed the scores will go to the website and the ladder will shift. If they are CONTESTED than a message is sent to you with a link to the scores for you to either edit them or confirm them and send them to the website. - How do I register as a doubles team?
One player from the doubles team must register and pay for the team.
- How do players set up matches
Once the schedules are set and the league has started players go to Standings and Schedules for their flight to see who they are scheduled to play each week. Within each scorecard is a link for either player to set up the match for the week. Clicking on the link creates the Match Invitation where the player enters the possible times and dates he/she can play and suggested court location. The opponent can either agree to one of the dates or suggest up to 3 of their own. Once agreed upon the match is confirmed and added to each players calendar. - Who enters the scores to be confirmed?
Either player can enter the scores for the match. When they do a message is sent to the opponent with a link to confirm or contest the scores. When the scores are confirmed they go live to the website but if they are contested a message is sent to you with a link to the scores so that you can settle the dispute. - Can matches be played in any order?
Yes players can set up matches with any player no matter what the week is - How do I register for doubles?
Doubles registration and payment must be done by one person on the team. Both players must have a Courtside account to register. If a player does not have a partner they can select the button to let the pro match them up and then it is your responsibility to find them a partner and refund the money if you do not.
